STACEY ABRAMS, JD

Community Strategist, Entrepreneur, NYT Best Selling Author

Stacey Abrams is a political leader, business owner and bestselling author. A tax attorney by training, she served as Minority Leader of the Georgia House of Representatives and was the Democratic nominee for governor of Georgia in 2018 and 2022. She has launched multiple nonprofit organizations devoted to democracy protection, national and local voter engagement, tackling social issues, and building a more equitable future in the South.

Abrams co-founded and served as Senior Vice President of NOWaccount Corp., a financial services firm. She also co-founded Nourish, Inc., a beverage company with a focus on infants and toddlers, as well as other entrepreneurial ventures. She co-founded Insomnia Consulting to specialize in development, investment and consulting for complex infrastructure projects, including transportation, waste-by-rail transfer, energy, facilities and water. In 2021, Abrams and her business partner published a guidebook for entrepreneurs based on their experiences called Level Up.  Formerly, Abrams served as Deputy City Attorney for the City of Atlanta.  Prior to her tenure at the City, she was Special Tax Counsel at Sutherland, with a focus on tax-exempt organizations, health care and public finance.

Abrams is the CEO of Sage Works Production, Inc, a production company for television and film projects. A voting rights advocate, she served as a producer on the Academy Awards-shortlisted documentary All In: The Fight for Democracy and wrote the New York Times bestselling books Our Time is Now and Lead from the Outside. She is also the author of two children’s books, the political thrillers While Justice Sleeps and Rogue Justice, and several romantic suspense novels. She has been nominated for an Emmy and received the NAACP Image Award in 2021 and 2022.

Abrams sits on both nonprofit and corporate boards, and she is a lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Abrams holds degrees from Spelman College, the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas and Yale Law School. Born in Madison, Wisconsin, she and her five siblings grew up in Gulfport, Mississippi and were raised in Georgia, where she currently resides.

Greg Cunningham

Senior Executive Vice President & Chief Diversity Officer, U.S. Bank

Wednesday Opening Session

Greg Cunningham is senior executive vice president and chief diversity officer for U.S. Bancorp. He joined the bank in 2015 as vice president of customer engagement and was promoted to chief diversity officer in 2020.

Cunningham leads the company’s inclusive growth strategy, driven by a business imperative. In 2021, he led the launch of U.S. Bank Access Commitment, the company’s long-term approach to help close the wealth gap for underserved communities of color and redefine how U.S. Bank serves employees, clients and communities.

Previously, Cunningham spent 16 years at Target Corporation where he led lifestyle marketing.

Cunningham is a member of Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity (the Boule’) and serves on the National Board of Directors for the United Negro College Fund (UNCF), the nation’s largest and most effective minority higher education organization. He also serves on the board of Juxtaposition Arts, a Minneapolis-based nonprofit focused on supporting youth and the arts, the advisory board of Doughtery Family College at the University of St. Thomas, OIC of America, and serves on the Minneapolis Downtown Council’s 2035 Steering Committee.

Cunningham earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Clark-Atlanta University, a UNCF member school, and an MBA from Fordham University in New York City.

Alisha Moreland-Capuia, MD, MACPsych


Founder and Director, McLean Hospital’s Institute for
Trauma Informed Systems Change

Dr. Alisha Moreland-Capuia (Dr. AMC) graduated from Stanford University with a B.S. in biological sciences and minor in urban studies. She earned a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She completed four years of residency training in psychiatry and a fellowship in addiction medicine, both at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). She is the founder and director of McLean Hospital’s Institute for Trauma-Informed Systems Change, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, and Affiliate Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at OHSU School of Medicine.

She is an expert in trauma-informed systems change and has trained over 250 unique systems spanning not-for-profit organizations, education, criminal justice, healthcare, and government(s) (state, federal and international) in trauma-informed practices, approaches and systems change.  

She has served on the Portland Community Oversight Advisory Board, charged with monitoring the implementation of the City of Portland’s settlement agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice to enact reform to Portland Police Bureau (PPB) policies and training. Dr. AMC built Healing Hurt People-Portland (HHP), a trauma-informed, hospital-based, community-focused youth violence prevention program. Her trauma-informed efforts are global as she works in Angola, Africa at their family clinic Centro Medico Bom Samaritano and is the co-founder of The Capuia Foundation. 

Dr. AMC is the sole author of Training for Change: Transforming Systems to be Trauma-Informed, Culturally Responsive, and Neuroscientifically Focused (2019) and The Trauma of Racism: Exploring the People and Systems Fear Built (2021).

Most recently Rohini was SVP Corporate Responsibility and Global Chief Diversity Officer for Sodexo. She reported to the Global CEO and was a member of Sodexo’s North America Executive Committee. Rohini successfully positioned Sodexo as a global thought leader in DEI and Corporate Responsibility. Sodexo’s remarkable global culture change, led by diversity and inclusion, is featured in a Harvard Business School case study entitled Shifting the Diversity Climate: the Sodexo Solution .

Rohini has been featured in several articles in CNBC, The Boston Globe, The New York Times, and the Washington Post. Rohini has appeared on CNN, Bloomberg and CNN Money as well on National Public Radio. She is the recipient of many accolades including the Mosaic Woman Leadership Award, the Women’s Foodservice Forum Trailblazer Award, Webster University’s Women of Influence Award and the Who’s Who in Asian American Communities Award (WWAAC), amongst others.

Dr. Anand received her PhD from the University of Michigan. She serves on the advisory boards of several organizations including WomenLift Health a Gates Foundation initiative, Pulsely and the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Center for Inclusive Governance’s Advisory Council. She also serves on the external diversity advisory boards for Sanofi and for Charter Communications and chaired the Catalyst Board of Advisors. She is a Board Director for Galt Foundation and Tent Partnership for Refugees. Rohini is a Senior Fellow with the Conference Board.
